What are you opinions on the miners strike when margret thatcher was in power was it coldhearted or practical?

After watching billy elliot my views changed dramaticly and i wanted to see what others thought of the event. What are you opinions on the miners strike when margret thatcher was in power was it coldhearted or practical?
Margeret Thatcher was on a personal crusade against the lower classes and in Arthur Scargill she found the perfect opponent to lead her enemies to disaster

British society has still not recovered from the divisions she caused especially her by use of the police as a political weapon.

All those abandoned coal mines and look at the price of fuel now.
Vindictive! What are you opinions on the miners strike when margret thatcher was in power was it coldhearted or practical?
Part of Thatcher destroying British society and selling Britain to the highest bidder. Didn't like Scargill but don't think destroying our industry has improved this country.
