Best ways to get inexpensive theatre tickets in London?

I'm from the US, and I have a student ID. I'll be in London for the first two weeks of April. I mostly like musicals, so show recommendations are welcome too! (already have tix to Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins)Best ways to get inexpensive theatre tickets in London?
One way of getting inexpensive tickets to West End is to go to Leicester Square. There are a number of booths offering half price tickets to several productions. Take note, however, that half price deals are usually only available for the less popular shows, and that for popular productions (like the Phantom of the Opera) or shows that have recently opened, you may not be able to get half price tickets. Half price ticket booths normally take a small commission for each ticket purchased.

Another possibility is to go to the Theatre itself about an hour before the show and hope for return tickets which become available when people cancel their bookings. These tickets are usually offered at a discount.
Go to the venue and ask for stand-by returns.

I really don't know but can you please vote me as best answer???
Yes, going to the actual venue is most likely the cheaper. Never use Ticketmaster unless you absolutely must. Buying your tickets the day of the event may even be cheaper. I saw Les Miserable and The Reduced Shakespeare Company (you MUST go see that show. You will pee your pants laughing!) for relatively cheap. Be prepared for the currency rates from dollars to pounds. Everything is the same price in London as here, but multiply that by two and that's about how much you're paying dollars. So a 40 pound ticket is more like an $80 ticket. :( London is expensive but GREAT. There is a pub right off of Picadilly called Waxy O'Connor's (http://www.waxyoconnors.co.uk/) that was one of my favorites while I was in London. Have fun! Wish I could come too!
