What are the differences between stage and film?

For example in Billy Elliot .. I've thought of differences like theres an audience in a stage version of Billy Elliot and The film version would of required location filming and stuff but i need more please help!

Stage is the theater and more about the actors. Where as film is not on stage, but through the lens of a camera, and isn't about the actors, but the director's vision.What are the differences between stage and film?
Also, if you're acting in theatre you get the immediate audience reaction, whereas in film you don't know until your movie's already released.
