Normal everyday situations can be terrifying for someone with Autism, multiply that by a thousand at least then you might get some idea what that lad felt like.
While I agree sob stories shouldn't get you through, people should understand what a huge achievement it was just getting on the stage in front of all those people.
It wasn't a sob story at all. The only reason it came out was because Michael asked him if he went to school. The answer happened to be no, so he told the truth. Whether he is autistic or not he is a genius on the dance floor. Good luck to him. To be honest, i don't think he would have told them about his autism, if that question about school was asked.B.G.T... Billy Elliot.((sob story im autistic)))?
I thought he was brilliant and fully deserves to go through on his own merit. If he is autistic it didnt show and to think he used to have to wear shoes to straighten his feet is a brilliant result. He could be in any dance show or theatre production. Good luck to him. He has what you call TALENT,
Micheal asked him if he went to school because he already knew he didnt. How many of the others do they ask this of? Of course they know who is coming on,its all rehearsed beforehand. I wondered why this boy could not go to school? It was ballet dancing, not modern street dancing. I am a realist, like Simon who is sorely missed.
I don't think he needs the back up of a sob story he was asked if he went to school so explained why he's home school.I thought he did okay.
He didn't seem autistic, he seemed fine.........
He was good, especially for 11......
But I think if he went on Got to Dance he wouldn't have got through!
Oh I didn't hear him say he was autistic. Good on him, he did well.
