everyone has already answered, but hey, i just thought id take this opportunity to say that Billy Elliot is one of the best films EVER!!!! its so typically British (woo English and Proud!!) and omg don't you just want him to succeed, just because he wants it so bad himself!! Aw i love it it always makes me feel better, and the music by Marc Bolan helps a lot!!

It was released in 2000 so it was most likely filmed in 1998 and 1999. It is one of my all time favorite movies as Jamie Bell nailed his performance.
Set in 1984 it was released in 2000 so would have been filmed in the year or two before this.
