What happened to Billy Elliot's Mom?

I thought she died but in the Letter reprise she had a conversation with Billy.

She did die- it was her ghost / his imagination during the letter reprise. I have seen 2 of the Billy's, but neither of them were the ones you mentioned above! xx
She did die, that might have been her in a spirit like form talking with him, or his conscience.



I've never seen the show, only heard the songs. I am an avid fan of the film though. She's definitely dead.What happened to Billy Elliot's Mom?
I'm pretty sure she died. She does sing part of the first Letter song, so it could have been her spirit again or something like that. I haven't actually seen the show.
