Musicals? Billy Elliot or Lion King?

(London, UK)

Going to take my fiance to watch her first musical in August but should it be the lion king or Billy Elliot (or maybe something else?)

... We both get bored quite easily so its got to keep our attention and its got to be on for the 3rd August.

THANKS!Musicals? Billy Elliot or Lion King?
Well I'm the same as you and i do get very bored in a show if it isn't entertaining, i once walked out at the interval of Joseph and his tecnicoloured dreamcoat, it was that bad.

I would say go see Billy Elliott, I have seen it twice and both were amazing. Its full of great entertaining scenes and the acting is amazing. There is a lot of swearing, but the comedy is so funny, its really worth going to see.

You will feel joy, sadness, anger and much more when you see this show.

With The Lion King, its boring and way too long, and i would say just watch the film as its much better.
Billy Elliot...there is a lot of swearing in it.

Lion King is awesome but,,,well I got a numb bumMusicals? Billy Elliot or Lion King?
There are loads of good musicals on, so it depends what you're interested in. The Sound of Music has had brilliant reviews and could be a good option if your fiancee likes the film. Ditto Chicago - and of course Billy Elliot! I haven't actually seen that one yet, but everyone seems to enjoy it.

The shows by Andrew Lloyd Webber are always very accessible for 1st timers, eg Phantom and Joseph (which is opening in July). Blood Brothers is also good in that respect.

My favourite musical is Les Miserables - the music is a bit more complex than many shows, as is the story, but it's a great show and I'm sure you'd recognise some of the tunes.

There's a complete list of what's showing at http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/s鈥?/a>
